It is MANDATORY to earn a bronze medal in each of the five tracks. Timing ends when the screen fades to black after the last track. Timing starts when you press Race on the first track. Timing ends when the screen turns completely black after defeating the second boss. This 45 seconds is used for swapping cartridges/ROMs and configuring your controls and settings for the next game. At the end of each goal you must wait 45 seconds before starting your run in the next game. Increasing the lives or continues via the game menu is allowed. No codes are allowed, except for the following: Codes that give you more lives or continues, and codes or passwords that let you stage-select to return to a level in which you gameovered. All glitches are allowed unless mentioned in the rules below. You should use the default difficulty level unless the goal specifies a different difficulty. You should use the U version of the game. You may use emulator, flashcart, or cartridges. All goals start from a new game and end when you've played up to and including the stage or boss specified in the goal.
